<span style='font-family: Arial Black'><span style='font-size: 11pt'>Powell Valley vs Clintwood</span> </span>
GAME OF THE WEEK! Very important game for both Clintwood and Powell Valley. Both teams go into this game 2-2 and both teams desperately need a win here to get momentum going in their favor. Clintwood Coach Rick Mullins is quoted in the BHC following the loss to Lebanon as saying: "I just told our guys it doesn't get any easier," said Mullins. "We have to come back with a good week of practice and get a little better than we were tonight. We don't have time to worry about our losses, we just have to get better." Mullins is right in that it doesn't get any easier for the Waves for the rest of the season. Defensively, Clintwood should match up well with the Vikings and in fact may have the better defense. Offensively, the Wave will have to be ready to defend against a good passing game, which hasn't been the Waves' strong point. Powell Valley has arguably the best wide receiver in the district in Delmas Lawson. In Mitchell and Lawson, the Vikings have a very good scoring combination. Clintwood has one of the best running backs in the district in Chris Robinson. If PV is not prepared, Robinson will be down the field and in the end zone before they know what is happening. I think PV wins this one, but in a closer game than some are predicting.

Appalachia comes off a disappointing loss to Gate City in a game many thought they the Bulldogs would win. The Dawgs should have the advantage to get a decisive win in this one.

Indians are on a bit of a roll following high-scoring wins over Coeburn and Grundy. This game shouldn't be much different. The Indians' schedule will get much more challenging in mid-October.
